i forgot i had these sweet little booklets tucked away in my grandma k'.s cookbook. i just love looking at them and reading them. they have great pictures inside too. they are from the 1920's. the yellow bowl was my grandma's. i have such special memories of her from little girl on up to adulthood. she was with us until she was 96. i still miss her alot. she was the kind of person i strive to be. uncomplaining and always kind and a smile on her face. and she made the best sugar cookies! this is her recipe (in her handwriting) for them framed on my kitchen wall. she gave it to me years ago. she told me she really had never written it down she just dumped everything in a bowl, so she had to think about it before she could give it to me! that was gram, and i see it in my mom now too!

it's always amazing to me how a little sunshine can change people's mood's/atitudes! as i went thru the grocery store this morning i can honestly say i saw only one person that did not have a smile on her face. it seemed eveyone else had a smile and a warm greeting! love that! makes for a nice start of the day esp. since i don't like to buy groceries very much. just one of those "wifely" tasks that i dread. oh well, it's done now for another week (or so)!;)

i just loved the way the sun was shinning in the kitchen window this morning and on to the baskets i have in a corner.
have a nice day and get out and enjoy the sunshine if you can!

Oh those books are darling... and the light in your basket photo is great!
Grandma memories are the best...arent they? So cool that you have those things around to remind you of her.
